The proposed Newfoundland and Labrador floating LNG export project (LNG NL) stands out from all the rest in Canada for three reasons. It is the only one planning to source its feedgas from offshore along the east coast of Canada rather than elsewhere in North America—in particular, Western Canada. LNG NL also has the potential to be the lowest-emission liquefaction facility not just in Canada but in the world.
